Day 1 Arrival

Romar, Theresa and Leanne finally arrived at Jerez Saturday via Ryan Air. I shot some videos as the plane taxied in and took pictures behind the chain link fence as they walked into customs. It's a small terminal and passengers walk to/from the planes and you can watch from the cafeteria on the 2nd floor or from the fence right next to the customs entrance/exit. They didn't want their pictures taken since they've been traveling for over a day plus the other passengers were also looking. Here's their own shot of the Jerez terminal after getting off the plane.

We were able to cram all the luggage (they're supposed to be traveling light but Romar's and Leanne's were full-sized) into the car considering it's a 2-door hatchback. Missed the beautiful sunset on the way back though since the days are getting shorter (sunset at 9:00 pm) but the sky was still bright with rosy red clouds.

Gave them a tour of the house (lots of wow's!!!), fired up the grill for some steaks and then had dinner at the patio enjoying the waning sunlight and the cool ocean breeze. Did a quick walk afterwards to the beach, got their feet wet on the warm ocean water and then walked over to the 'chiringuito' (beach stall) that was full of people eating dinner and having drinks. They had an up-close and personal view of the laid-back Spanish way of life. (They already observed this upon arrival at the terminal - no rushing).

Stayed up looking at the brochures deciding on the itinerary and also agreed to wake up early for a morning run at the beach (yeah, right!). Took showers before going to bed and they were very happy with the 4 bathrooms since they didn't have to wait though Leanne didn't mention that she didn't have hot water. Each bathroom has its own heater and I forgot to turn it back on after Richie came for a visit 2 months ago. Finally got to bed about 1:00 am after preparing our luggage for the trip to Granada.
